I like to think I’m not bothered about appearances. I don’t wear make up or dye my hair. It takes me about 10 minutes a day to get ready to go out; maybe 15 if it’s a special occasion. I’m disinterested in fashion and rely on clothes that are functional, comfortable, unfussy. Although I do like classic styles and believe form is necessary as well as function. I get irked by news reports of people who have suffered unfortunate fates being lamented as “beautiful”, as if it would be fine for misfortune to befall ugly people.
So I’m quite surprised and entertained by the discovery that finding the message on my jeans has made me smile for several hours. Maybe I’m more image conscious than I would like to believe?
